For the first time in Iceland, a competition for the best pitch of Iceland's most promising start-up companies was held in the New Nordics Pitch Competition, which was supervised by Klak - Icelandic Startups, at a full festival hall in Gróska on May 20. The competition was won in collaboration with Silicion Vikings, Weird Pickle, Íslandstofa.
The winner of the New Nordics Pitch Competition is Treble Technologies, a startup that was founded in 2020 by Finn Pind and Jesper Pedersen and several professional audiologists.
The competition day was held on the last day of Innovation Week, which started late on May 16. All the main people from the business world, a representative from the Canadian Embassy, entrepreneurs and startups made their way to Groska. There was a lot of excitement before the competition, but an aperitif was invited, where DJ Jay-O set the tone.
Eight start-ups took the stage and presented their companies to foreign judges to the delight of the audience. The foreign judges asked each and every start-up company how it does best in the Shark Tank or "shark cage". We took the rating and the selection of the winner.
