KLAK – Icelandic Startups will attend a challenging course at MIT University in Boston in the coming days. The course follows an agreement that KLAK has made with the MIT Venture Mentoring Service (MIT VMS) to build KLAK's mentoring service on their model, and KLAK will thus run the formal sister program of MIT VMS.
KLAK has for many years helped entrepreneurs and start-up companies, but with this collaboration the mentoring service and the mentoring community will be further enhanced by adopting the implementation of MIT VMS, who have for 22 years developed methods to promote and accelerate the growth of start-up companies.
The aim of this course is to teach KLAK project managers to train mentors and manage an active and professional community of mentors. KLAK is given access to teaching materials for mentors, and at the beginning of next year, experts from MIT VMS will come to Iceland and hold workshops for KLAK mentors, but KLAK's mentor community currently has around 300 founders, managers and experts from Icelandic business life.
