Interested entrepreneurs got to know Hringiðu+

The Hringiðu+ 2025 introductory event took place in Gróska this week, and all interested parties were invited to come, learn about the accelerator, and talk to KLAK – Icelandic startups staff and representatives from the steering committee about the possibility of participating.

Ísey Dísa Hávarsdóttir, Project Manager of Hringiða, took the stage first and introduced the accelerator's structure and focus in 2025. The change from last year's structure will be that this year the accelerator is specifically targeted at more advanced business ideas or solutions that have reached at least maturity level 4 on the TRL scale. Maturity level 4 means that the solution or product being worked on has been tested and proven in a "protected" environment. Due to this change in focus, the accelerator will be called Hringiða+ this year.

Magnús Ingi Óskarsson, Director of KLAK VMS, then introduced the mentorship program that all participants in business accelerators organized by KLAK – Icelandic startups have access to. Finally, Eyrún Linnet, Founder and CTO of SnerpaPower, spoke about her company and the opportunities that participating in Hringiðu+ in 2022 opened up for their operations. The talk was really interesting and entertaining, as SnerpaPower's success in recent years is remarkable.

After this, guests had the opportunity to ask questions and chat with each other while enjoying light refreshments.

Hringiða+ is a six-week business accelerator for green solutions that begins on March 17th and ends with a grand investor day on May 7th. There is a two-week break over Easter. The accelerator includes a variety of workshops, lectures and events, but the goal of the program is to promote the growth of strong companies in Iceland that are based on the philosophy of the circular economy, create valuable and interesting jobs and deliver results in environmental and climate issues in Iceland. The goal of the accelerator is also that participants will be able to apply for green grants both in Iceland and abroad.
