Klak VMS invited Nordic entrepreneurs to visit

A gathering for a number of respected mentors was organized by Klak VMS at the headquarters of KLAK - Icelandic Startups in Mýrinn in Gróska. On that occasion, Nordic entrepreneurs and investors who visited Iceland on the occasion of Iceland Innovation Week were invited together to introduce themselves and get an insight into the community of Klak VMS mentors.

"It is important for the Klak VMS mentoring service to set an example and strengthen the network and get to know foreign entrepreneurs. It was therefore a pleasure to invite Nordic entrepreneurs and investors to a meeting where opinions and attitudes about the start-up environment and innovation culture are exchanged. Being a mentor is one of the most rewarding jobs imaginable. Sharing your knowledge, having fun discussions about what moves the wand forward the fastest, and enjoying the satisfaction of seeing the advice translate into clear progress month after month is priceless.” is quoted by Magnús Inga Óskarsson, director of Klak VMS.

Klak's mentoring service is based on the best available methodology to maximize startup success. The service was officially launched at the beginning of this year around Klak's community of mentors, one of the most important parts of the startup community's support system, which supports 60-70 startup teams every year. Klak VMS is a sister program of MIT VMS, which for the past 20 years has built a mentoring system to support entrepreneurs within the MIT campus community in Boston.

MIT VMS has systematically spread its knowledge to others and now has 122 sister programs in 28 countries around the world. In Iceland, 70 ambitious VMS mentors currently work with Klak to support start-ups and entrepreneurs, but the guidance of the mentors results in a greatly increased probability that the start-ups will succeed, to the benefit of Icelandic society.
