Advania places increased emphasis on promoting innovation both internally and by supporting Icelandic start-ups. The company has become a sponsor of Gullegg, the biggest entrepreneurial competition in the country.
Gulleggið is the biggest entrepreneurial competition in Iceland and has established itself as one of the biggest events in Iceland
the innovation scene in Iceland, but the competition has been held by Klak - Icelandic Startups since 2008 and 300 people took part in the competition when it was last held at the beginning of the year.
Advania wants to contribute to promoting the path of innovation in society, and part of that is supporting events such as Gulleggið.
"Innovation is a prerequisite for society to progress. Companies that do not innovate will fall behind and miss the train. Both established and new companies need to foster innovation. Therefore, we believe it is extremely important to support people who have the power and resilience to implement good ideas," says Ægir Már Þórisson, CEO of Advania.
"It is very gratifying to see the increased awareness of the importance of innovation in larger companies become a reality in cooperation with KLAK. It is extremely important that the Gullegg's sponsor group is large and diverse, thus giving competitors access to a wide network and knowledge. We are excited about the collaboration and welcome Advania to the group of sponsors," says Krisín Soffía Jónsdóttir, managing director of Klak - Icelandic Startups.
