University of Iceland and KLAK – Icelandic Startups renew their collaboration agreement

KLAK – Icelandic Startups and the University of Iceland have renewed their collaboration agreement for three years. The agreement strengthens support for innovation within the university and ensures all UI students have access to free advice from KLAK staff.

The partnership builds on successful work in recent years. Ásta Sóllilja Guðmundsdóttir, Managing Director of KLAK, and Silja Bára R. Ómarsdóttir, Rector of the University of Iceland, signed the agreement.

For students who want to develop a business idea or explore how their research can be used in new solutions, the consultancy is a support to take the next steps. They can turn to KLAK staff and receive guidance in developing their ideas further.

KLAK staff will also continue to visit classes and events at the University of Iceland and share knowledge about entrepreneurship and starting a business. This way, the support is linked to studies and work within the university.

The collaboration also extends to projects such as Gulleggið. Students and staff of the University of Iceland have contributed greatly to Gulleggið.

Through continued collaboration, KLAK and the University of Iceland are working to turn more ideas into profitable start-ups led by graduating students and to strengthen the skills of future managers.
