The second Gulleggið 2026 Vísindaferð took place at Gróska on Friday, 16 January, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and was open to all university students. At the event, guests were introduced to Gulleggið, Iceland’s largest and oldest entrepreneurship competition. Students also had the chance to meet representatives from the competition’s sponsors and discuss ideas, opportunities and next steps in entrepreneurship.
The Vísindaferð drew a great turnout, creating a fantastic atmosphere in Gróska’s event hall. Refreshments from CCEP were available while supplies lasted, and Alaska1867 provided the music and kept the energy high. Once the programme ended, the event turned into a lively startup party, where guests continued networking, sharing ideas and getting to know one another.
Vísindaferð reflected university students’ strong interest in innovation and entrepreneurship. It also highlighted the importance of creating a space where students, businesses and sponsors can come together, connect and find inspiration to build the next generation of startups.
Here are a few highlights from the evening.
