Origo has become a sponsor of Gullegg, the biggest entrepreneurial competition in the country. Gulleggið is one of the most popular entrepreneurial competitions in Iceland, where university students and the general public can take the first steps in the entrepreneurial community by transforming an idea into a business opportunity.
"Origo loves to turn good technology into a good business idea and does not hesitate to support projects whose guiding principle is to create technological ideas that can make life better," says Jón Björnsson, CEO of Origo.
Origo is one of the largest shareholders of KLAK - Icelandic Startups, but other owners are the University of Iceland, the University of Reykjavík, the Business Innovation Fund and the Confederation of Industry. Origo has supported KLAK's activities over the years, helping entrepreneurs and contributing to the increase in the number of start-ups in Iceland.
"More sponsors means bigger competition, more opportunities and more innovation." We celebrate all day long to get such a powerful company in the group of sponsors. Origo's history is exemplary, they understand and support innovation now as always," says Kristín Soffía Jónsdóttir, managing director of KLAK.
Jón Björnsson, CEO of Origo, Dröfn Guðmundsdóttir, Director of Human Resources at Origo and Kristín Soffía Jónsdóttir, Director of KLAK – Icelandic Startups have, through good cooperation, contributed to further strengthening the partnership between Origo and KLAK.
