Business accelerator for tourism start-ups

The goal of Startup Tourism is to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of tourism, strengthen the foundations of new companies, increase the number of entertainment options, promote the technologicalization of tourism and promote the distribution of tourists from around the country, all year round.

Startup Tourism is a business accelerator for tourism startups.

Startup Tourism is a five-week business accelerator tailored to the needs of new travel companiesservice.

The goal of the accelerator is to encourage innovation in the field of tourism, strengthen the foundations of new companies, increase the number of recreational opportunities, promote technological advancement in tourism and promote the distribution of tourists from all over the country, all year round.

Up to ten companies will be selected to participate. They get access to a fully equipped office space during the project and have the opportunity to enjoy education and training and further develop their business ideas under the guidance of experienced entrepreneurs, investors, key players in the field of tourism and other experts and managers at no cost to them.

Agenda

Startup Tourism is a five-week accelerator designed for participants from all over the country. The accelerator is divided into three sessions that take place in Gróska in Reykjavík and another two that take place online. The accelerator starts October 28 and ends November 27th

Mentors

Mentoring service KLAK – Icelandic Startups, KLAK VMS is one important link in the StartupTourism support system. 

The KLAK VMS mentoring system is based on the concept of the MIT Venture Mentoring Service, which has been in development at MIT University in Boston for over two decades. StartupTourism participants will meet with two to five different mentors at a time during the business accelerator.

Steering committee

Sponsors' representatives form the project's steering committee. The project's steering group is, among other things, involved in reviewing applications and selecting the business ideas that are offered participation in the accelerator.
