The rapper Daniil performed at Gulleggið

Entrepreneurs of the future came together in Gróska for the presentation of Gulleggið, Iceland's largest entrepreneurial competition. The presentation took place in the center hall of the building, where the musician and rapper Daniil, who was chosen as the newcomer of the year 2023 at the Listeners' Awards, thrilled the crowd.

800 enthusiastic university students flocked to Gróska to get to know Gulleggið and the activities of its main sponsors, while sumptuous booths filled the promenade. KLAK – Icelandic Startups in collaboration with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Committee of the University of Iceland held this largest scientific trip in Iceland to promote Gulleggið 2024. It was the manager of KLAK, Ásta Sóllilja Guðmundsdóttir, who organized the event this year and that in front of a full festival hall in Gróska.

Áslaug Arna with an inspiring speech

Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, minister of universities, industry and innovation, who has often been called the "minister of Gullegg", took the stage with an inspiring speech about innovation and Gullegg, while Magnús Daði Eyjólfsson, Gullegg's project manager, introduced her to the stage after reviewing the main key points in terms of participation.

University students also got to hear from Sigurður Ólafsson, the manager of the Greenhouse, who gave a talk about the start-up environment, and Magnús Má Þorgeirsson, software team leader in Landsbank's web department, who told the students about job opportunities and innovation within the bank. Landsbankinn has participated in the entrepreneurial project from the beginning and awards the main prize.

Other sponsors who had promotional booths in Gróska's promenade included the University of Iceland, the University of Reykjavík, the University of Akureyri, Össur, Bifröst, Origo, KPMG, Crowberry Capital, Marel, Hugverkastofa and Coca Cola Europacific Partners in Iceland.
