Ten powerful startups presented their projects in Gróska's festival hall to a full hall of investors, backers and other guests on the last day of the Startup Supernova accelerator recently. The business accelerator has been running for six weeks, but the aim of it is to speed up the development of the participating start-ups and make them suitable for investment.
Startup SuperNova is a springboard for start-ups and a platform for building relationships with people in the business world, experienced mentors and entrepreneurs who have knowledge and experience of the start-up environment. This year, the accelerator started at the Masterclass, where numerous experts, professionals and entrepreneurs in the Icelandic economy shared their knowledge and experience with a number of start-up companies. Ten companies were then selected for continued participation in Startup SuperNova after a rigorous application process.
The startups that appeared and presented their ideas in Gróska's festival hall were Knittable, Astrid, Synia, Quality Master, KuraTech, Lóalóa, ModulHR, Revolníu, Skarpur and Souldis.
Many of these innovative projects were said by various observers to be world-class.Startup SuperNova has established itself as one of the most important business accelerators in Iceland, where start-ups get a good chance to grow and prosper after the accelerator ends. Ten promising start-up companies were selected from a large number of applications, and we can see that Iceland's next start-up stars could be hidden among them. We look forward to following these powerful wands in the future." Says Jenna Björk Guðmundsdóttir, Project Manager Startup Supernova at KLAK - Icelandic Startups.
