Landsvirkjun signs a contract with Snjallräði

Landsvirkjun will be one of the sponsors of Snjallræði, but Kristín Linda Árnadóttir, deputy CEO of Landsvirkjun, signed an agreement with Kristín Soffíu Jónsdóttir, managing director of Klak - Icelandic Startups, at the social accelerator Snjallræði MIT DesignX, which will start this fall.

"The purpose of Landsvirkjun's support for Snjallræði is to provide strong entrepreneurs and companies with a good platform to further express themselves in the field of social innovation and to give all start-ups a unique opportunity to shape and develop a strategy so that they can grow and prosper.” says Kristín Linda Árnadóttir, deputy CEO of Landsvirkjun.

The aim of Sjjallräði is to promote innovation that tackles contemporary challenges and is thus an important platform for social start-ups. The focus is on promoting sustainability in innovation and building startups that directly support one or more of the United Nations' global goals from the very first steps.

Applications have been opened for Snjallräði, which is now running for the fourth time. The change will now be made that instead of being an 8-week accelerator, Snjallräði will now be a 16-week growth space (e. incubator) in addition to the collaboration with MIT DesignX, and Snjallräði will therefore be a certified DesignX growth space.

"We are really happy to have Landsvirkjun in the group of sponsors, they have shown ambition in social and sustainability issues and bring a lot of knowledge to the table." says Kristín Soffía Jónsdóttir, manager of KLAK

Open briefing on Snjallræði which is in collaboration with MIT DesignX will be at Reykjavík City Hall on Friday morning, July 1.

Doors open at 8:30, but the program starts at 9, and the meeting will also be live streamed.
