The minister signed a contract with Snjallräði

Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Market, signed an agreement on cooperation with KLAK on the social growth space Snjallräði, and this is the first time that the ministry has worked with KLAK.

"We are really happy to see the Ministry coming into the project with such a lot of energy. Innovative companies that engage in social innovation often see the state as their first customer, and it is important to know the challenges and expectations of the ministry. They come in not only with financial support, but also with knowledge and experience, which is no less important for Snjallräði" - Kristín Soffía, managing director of KLAK

Cleverness is intended to highlight, promote and support new technologies and methods that support the global goals of the United Nations and solve related problems in society.

Sjjallræði is a joint project of the Höfða Peace Center, the City of Reykjavík and the University of Iceland. The supervisor is KLAK - Icelandic Startups, which has years of experience in innovation and development of business ideas. To participate in 2022 ten start-ups were selected.

Cleverness is done in collaboration with the American university MIT, and experts from the university come to the country and work with the participants. In addition, the teams meet experienced entrepreneurs, investors and other experts from the business world. After 16 weeks, participants should be ready to present their projects to investors.

Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Market:

"It is a pleasure to participate in supporting entrepreneurs who are passionate about new solutions in welfare and social issues. A variety of challenges call for a variety of solutions, and it is important that this kind of platform exists, where hopefully good solutions will emerge."
