Cleverness has chosen 10 start-ups

©Kristinn Ingvarsson

Cleverness has chosen 10 start-up companies that all have in common the desire to lead important social changes by using the methodology of innovation and design thinking to tackle social challenges. The wands' solutions include benefits for people and the environment, and therefore for society as a whole.

From August 23rd to December 7th, participants in Snjallräði will take part in workshops in Iceland organized by Sváfa Grönfeldt and her colleagues from MIT designX. The teams will benefit from the guidance of the most skilled experts in Iceland, including from the KLAK mentoring community, in further developing the solutions. Several aspects of the development process will be addressed, from needs and stakeholder analysis, design of a sustainable business model, prototype creation and budgets to relationship building and presentation.

The aim of Sjjallräði is to promote innovation that tackles contemporary challenges and is thus an important platform for social start-ups. KLAK welcomes everyone to Gróska on August 23, but with that the work begins to implement, scale and finance the solutions of the wands.
